Basketball Recap: East Mecklenburg Eagles vs. Providence Panthers
East Mecklenburg lost against Providence back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The East Mecklenburg Eagles fell 52-43 to the Providence Panthers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Perhaps the best among them was Kameyah Brown, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Samariah Freeman, who earned nine points.
Even though they lost, East Mecklenburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Providence was led to victory by Anna Fillnow and Emma Fuller. Fillnow went 7 for 11 en route to 22 points along with five boards and four steals, while Fuller dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Fillnow's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
East Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Providence, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.
East Mecklenburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-47 loss against Rocky River on the 24th. As for Providence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-23 defeat against Charlotte Catholic on the 24th.
