Volleyball Recap: Tyler Mackey Key Part of Team Effort in Longhorns Win + How To Watch

Springfield won the last time they faced Wiley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

While Springfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Springfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Mackey, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most digs Mackey has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Tylynn Rosengrants, who had ten digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.

Springfield now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wiley, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Granada on the 2nd. As for Wiley, they will challenge Walsh at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
