Basketball Recap: Hilton Comes Up Short

Hilton lost to Fairport back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cadets were dealt an 85-53 defeat at the hands of the Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 526th, while the Red Raiders are ranked third).

Hilton has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. As for Fairport, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Coming up, Hilton will venture away from home to take on Mendon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairport, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-46 victory against Bishop Timon-St. Jude on the 17th.
