Baseball Recap: Cheboygan Takes a Loss

Cheboygan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Alpena Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 back in April.

Nolan Schley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cheboygan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Alpena, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Cheboygan will challenge Harbor Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alpena, they will take on Freeland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
