Baseball Recap: Lincoln Triumphs

Lincoln took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Saline, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Railsplitters had just enough and edged out the Hornets 4-3. This was payback for the Railsplitters, who suffered a 10-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Michael Stone was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Lincoln's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-14 when he doesn't).

Lincoln's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-14. As for Saline, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4-1.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
