Baseball Recap: Big Bear Comes Up Short

After flying high against Excelsior Charter last Thursday, Big Bear came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Hesperia Christian Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Big Bear saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Brayden Benson, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Big Bear's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for Hesperia Christian, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

While Big Bear had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
