Soccer Game Preview: Carpinteria vs. Malibu

The Carpinteria Warriors will face off against the Malibu Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Malibu took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Carpinteria, who comes in off a win.

Malibu better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Carpinteria's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Carpinteria really gets things going. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Nordhoff. The win continues a trend for Carpinteria in their matchups with Nordhoff: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Malibu was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carpinteria. While losing is never fun, Malibu can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 884th, while Carpinteria are ranked 362nd).

Malibu's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Carpinteria, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2.
