Basketball Recap: Lake's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Lake lost to Rossford back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Lake Flyers enjoyed a cozy 49-31 victory over the Rossford Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

Scarlett Williams and Keaghan Mahaffey certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Williams almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Mahaffey posted seven points and ten boards. That was a full 41.9% of Rossford's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Alex Swartz also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lake's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Rossford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Lake has already played their next game (against Northwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rossford will be playing in front of their home fans against Otsego at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
