Waverly waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Seward Bluejays with points to spare, taking the game 47-33. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Waverly to victory were Parker Christiansen and Annie Harms. Christiansen posted 14 points, while Harms earned 13 points. Mia Jackson was another key player, putting up seven points.

Waverly pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Seward, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Waverly and Seward should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Waverly will take on Wahoo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday up 101 places (15 vs. 116). Meanwhile, Seward (ranked 35th) will meet Aurora (ranked 108th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
