Football Recap: La Joya Community Fighting Lobos vs. Buckeye Hawks
La Joya Community lost against Buckeye back in October of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fighting Lobos were dealt a 55-20 defeat at the hands of the Hawks. The Fighting Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although La Joya Community took the loss, they still got scores from Aaron Winfield, Jared Molina, and Jayden Quick.
La Joya Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lavale Mcafee and Yusuf Abdul-Malik. La Joya Community got some further help from Jacarre Simmons: he forced one fumble, made 11 total tackles, and defended two passes.
Xylin Yancy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 133 yards on only 11 carries for Buckeye.
La Joya Community now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Buckeye, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
