Baseball Recap: Greenwood Comes Up Short

Greenwood was the 7-2 winner over Hillcrest when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Luke Godwin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, Landen Still made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Greenwood now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Hillcrest, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-13 record.

As of now, neither Greenwood nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
