It's playoff time, and Cedaredge had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 victory over the Yuma Outlaws on Saturday. The Bruins' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Cedaredge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carley Malinowski out in front who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Malinowski has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jessie Black, who posted six points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.
Cedaredge was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yuma only seven assists.
Yuma's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jade Lungwitz, who earned 12 points and three steals, and Bailey Nighswonger, who put up two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Cedaredge's win bumped their record up to 25-0. As for Yuma, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
Coming up, Cedaredge will square off against Colorado Springs Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Springs Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Yuma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
