Monta Vista hadn't done well against Gunn recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Matadors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans, sneaking past 5-4. This was payback for the Matadors, who suffered a 30-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Shiva Kumaraguru was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Monta Vista moved to 14-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Gunn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will head out to take on MacDonald at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Condor will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Gunn, they are taking a road trip to square off against Milpitas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
