3A Region I District 2 recap December 3, 2013
Cooper moved up to 152 from 216 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region I District 2. The Pirates were able to move up by besting Burnet 41-34.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Shallowater beat Vernon 35-26. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Mustangs.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Andrews's Shane Dolgener and Coy Lopez have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Dolgener has thrown for 1,238 yards this season, while Lopez has 50 catches for 697 yards. Estacado's Robert Johnson leads the league in rushing yards with 2,337.
The Matadors fell to Graham 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Johnson ran for 105 yards in the loss.
