Basketball Recap: Kenston Wins Going Away Against North

Kenston's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the North Rangers as the Kenston Bombers made off with a 53-30 victory. That looming 53-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bombers yet this season.

Morgan Cicek continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 16 on her way to 19 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Mariela Macias, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Kenston was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only racked up three assists.

When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Kaitlin Dobida. Despite the final result, she earned 19 points along with five boards and five blocks. That was a full 63.3% of North's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gillian Forwick, who put up six points and five rebounds.

The win got Kenston back to even at 8-8. As for North, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-8.

Kenston has already played their next contest (against Riverside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North will venture away from home to face off against Chardon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
