Football Recap: St. Mark's Extends Winning Streak to Three

While St. Mark's win against Trinity Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions skirted past the Trojans 31-29. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hunter Flatt, who threw for 306 yards and three TDs. Flatt is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Trinity Christian's leading receiver Chase Griffin was Flatt's top target yet again, picking up 150 receiving yards and one score.

St. Mark's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, St. Mark's will be playing in front of their home fans against John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Trinity Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 930 yards in their previous games.
