Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Heber Springs, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Heber Springs beat Clinton by a score of 19-4 later that day.
