Soccer Game Preview: Cleburne County vs. Weaver

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Cleburne County face off against Weaver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cleburne County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Cleburne County lost 7-1 to Temple on Tuesday. Cleburne County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Weaver's offense. They came up short against White Plains on Tuesday, falling 4-0. Weaver have struggled against White Plains recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Weaver's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cleburne County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Cleburne County took their victory against Weaver in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cleburne County since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
