Basketball Recap: North Mahaska's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of six wins, North Mahaska's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 53-45 to the Montezuma Braves. The Warhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 51-32.

North Mahaska's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 14-2. As for Montezuma, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Mahaska will face off against Woodward-Granger at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodward-Granger will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something North Mahaska surely won't give up without a fight. As for Montezuma, they will square off against B-G-M at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
