Basketball Recap: Enumclaw Takes a Loss

Enumclaw was the 59-52 winner over Auburn Mountainview when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Enumclaw Hornets took a blow against the Auburn Mountainview Lions on Tuesday, falling 85-55. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Lions are ranked 24th).

Auburn Mountainview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sebastian Arius, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Arius is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lucas McClendon, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds.

Enumclaw's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Auburn Mountainview, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0.
