Baseball Game Preview: West Plains Wolves vs. Amarillo Sandies

The West Plains Wolves will face off against the Amarillo Sandies at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Plains' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Andrews.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amarillo). They came out on top against Ysleta by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.

West Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. Amarillo's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1.

West Plains came out on top in a nail-biter against Amarillo when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Does West Plains have another victory up their sleeve, or will Amarillo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
