After a string of four wins, Fordham Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the McQuaid Jesuit Knights by a score of 4-3.

Fordham Prep got a good showing from James Denning, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Denning has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jack McKillop was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Fordham Prep's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for McQuaid Jesuit, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fordham Prep will head out to face off against Moore Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they will head out on the road to challenge Iona Prep at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
