Softball Recap: Martin County Has No Trouble Against Bayside

Martin County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bayside, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Martin County Tigers were the clear victor by a 20-3 margin over the Bayside Bears on Monday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.

Kalei Bertke was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Ariana Arroyo also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Bertke wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Martin County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Martin County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bayside, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Martin County has already played their next game, an 8-7 defeat against South Fork on the 11th. As for Bayside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-6 loss against Eau Gallie on the 11th.
