Basketball Recap: Franklin Falls Despite Big Games from Isaac Haack and Eldon Haack

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 41-27 fall against the Southwest Roughriders. That's two games in a row now that the Flyers have lost by exactly 14 points.

Despite the loss, Franklin had strong showings from Eldon Haack, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 20 rebounds, and Isaac Haack, who posted six points along with six boards and three steals. Eldon is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Largent, who had seven points.

Southwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Houston Billeter, who earned 23 points and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Billeter has scored at least a third of Southwest's points. Another player making a difference was Deric Kelley, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Southwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-17 loss against Lawrence-Nelson on the 4th. As for Southwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-35 defeat against Hitchcock County on the 7th.
