Columbia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Suwannee Bulldogs 42-6 on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Xavier Collins was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 33 yards and a pair of TDs. Kyren Caldwell also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.
Columbia's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Coming up, Columbia will face off against Coffee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Suwannee, they will head out on the road to take on Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
