Basketball Recap: Seneca East Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Seneca East can now relate to. They came up short against the Danbury Lakers on Saturday, falling 47-24. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Maci Brown was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine steals for Danbury. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Thea Brickner, who posted ten points.

Seneca East dropped their record down to 16-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Danbury, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Seneca East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Danbury, they will face off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as John F. Kennedy Catholic comes in on four and Danbury on eight.
