Basketball Recap: Fort Campbell Takes a Loss

Fort Campbell extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They came up short against the Northeast Eagles, falling 74-49. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 25 points.

As for Northeast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Northeast was led to victory by Peyton Smith and Destin Jones. Smith went 8-for-16 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals, while Jones almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine steals. Thanks to that strong game, Jones now owns an excellent 48.3% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Jones, who posted ten points along with eight boards and five steals.

Looking ahead, Fort Campbell will look to defend their home court on Friday against Crittenden County at 7:00 p.m. As for Northeast, they are taking a road trip to take on Dickson County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
