Soccer Recap: Western Takes a Loss

Western lost against Cypress Bay back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Western Wildcats lost 4-1 to the Cypress Bay Lightning. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Lightning are ranked 109th).

Western's goal came courtesy of Juan Negretti, which was the first he's scored this season.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Cypress Bay, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3-2.

Western didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Coral Springs on the 19th. As for Cypress Bay, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cooper City at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
