Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

Sunrise Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Durango Trailblazers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-31 back in January.

Among those leading the charge was Amarie Riley, who posted 13 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Durango's points.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Durango, their victory bumped their record up to 7-18.

Sunrise Mountain has already played their next game, a 63-34 loss against Foothill on the 7th. As for Durango, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-25 defeat against Del Sol on the 5th.
