Downingtown West (Downingtown, Pa.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 56-14 win over Cheltenham (Wyncote, Pa.).
The Whippets put up seven points in the opening frame. Downingtown West scored on a
Nick Pagel touchdown pass to
Colin Domblesky.
After taking the lead on a Pagel touchdown pass to Domblesky in the first quarter, DW was up 28-14 at the half.
The Downingtown school expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Whippets scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Jimmy DiSantis.
Pagel stood out for Downingtown West in the win. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
In its next matchup DW (1-0) will take on Neshaminy in a non-conference game. The Redskins go into the week with a record of 0-0.
