Softball Game Preview: Ingram Moore Warriors vs. Sweetwater Mustangs

For the second straight game, Ingram Moore will face off against Sweetwater. The Warriors will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ingram Moore has nine straight victories, Sweetwater has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Ingram Moore had just enough and edged out Sweetwater 12-11.

McKenna McClintock was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Crawley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Ingram Moore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sweetwater only posted a batting average of .342.

Ingram Moore pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Sweetwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16-1.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ingram Moore hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Sweetwater struggles in that department as they've averaged .382. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
