Basketball Recap: South Umpqua Takes a Loss

South Umpqua suffered their biggest loss since January 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 61-22 loss at the hands of the Douglas Trojans. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Lancers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

South Umpqua has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Umpqua will challenge Coquille at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Douglas, they will face off against Siuslaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Siuslaw comes in on eight and Douglas on four.
