Baseball Recap: Mccallie Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

While McCallie's win against McMinn County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Tornado narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cherokees 6-5. The Blue Tornado haven't had any issues with the Cherokees recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

David Stonecipher looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chandler Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Kelby Barnett was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

McCallie's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for McMinn County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCallie will venture away from home to face off against Chattanooga Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McMinn County, they will head out to take on Rhea County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
