Basketball Recap: Brady Hughes and Zack Turner Secure Win for Gibbs

Gibbs won the last time they faced Scott and things went their way on Friday too. The Gibbs Eagles came out on top against the Scott Highlanders by a score of 63-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Gibbs was led to victory by Zack Turner and Brady Hughes. Turner posted 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists, while Hughes went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points. The match was Turner's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lee Wolosik, who had seven points.

Gibbs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Scott, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Gibbs will challenge Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Gibbs surely won't give up without a fight. Scott has already played their next contest (against Maryville Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
