Baseball Recap: Flomaton Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

The Flomaton Hurricanes got the win against the McKenzie Tigers on Thursday by a conclusive 15-1. Considering the Hurricanes have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Riley Harrison, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Braden Nall, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Flomaton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Flomaton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for McKenzie, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Flomaton will welcome Excel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for McKenzie, they are taking a road trip to square off against Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
