Basketball Recap: Capital Jaguars vs. La Cueva Bears
Capital was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the La Cueva Bears 60-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-27 back in January.
Despite the loss, Capital still got an impressive performance from Annica Montoya, who posted six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Cueva to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn Dyer, who scored 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Dyer is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Siena Tesinsky, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 13 points and three steals.
Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for La Cueva, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.
Capital didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-56 victory against Manzano on the 18th. As for La Cueva, they have also already played their next match, a 46-42 win against Albuquerque on the 15th.
