The West Field Longhorns will take on the Logan Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Field took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Sky View with a sharp 16-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Longhorns needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Brylee Leatherwood, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Doxey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Field kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan). Everything went their way against Green Canyon on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Norah Zundel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zundel was also big at the plate, earning two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jayzanna Pauni and Rachel Porter did most of the damage at the plate: Pauni got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one run, while Porter went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Leila Pauni was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
West Field has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Logan, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Field hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like Logan struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Field came out on top in a nail-biter against Logan when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
