Preview: Kirby Prep Griffins vs. Pacific Collegiate Pumas

Kirby Prep is 0-10 against Pacific Collegiate since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Kirby Prep Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Pacific Collegiate Pumas at 4:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Kirby Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Anzar, taking the game 45-38.

Kirby Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Lively, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lively has scored at least a third of Kirby Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Alden, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pacific Collegiate came tearing into last Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 71-24 win over Ceiba College Preparatory Academy on the road. Pacific Collegiate has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 32 points or more this season.

Kirby Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Pacific Collegiate, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

Kirby Prep was taken down by Pacific Collegiate 66-26 when the teams last played back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kirby Prep was down 39-14.
