Basketball Recap: Soroco's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Soroco's strategy against Vail Christian on Saturday. The Soroco Rams were the clear victor by a 47-23 margin over the Vail Christian Saints. With the Rams ahead 29-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Soroco's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolbie Pierce, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Those 24 points gave Pierce a new career-high. Alayna Edwards was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Soroco was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win snapped Soroco's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-9 record. As for Vail Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Soroco will take on West Grand at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Soroco has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Vail Christian, they will square off against Hayden at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hayden will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Vail Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
