Soccer Recap: Farmersville Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Farmersville Farmers came up short against the Celina Bobcats and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd in Texas, while the Bobcats are ranked 56th in Texas).

Farmersville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Celina, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Farmersville will challenge Bonham at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Farmersville is facing Bonham at the right time seeing as Bonham is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Celina, they will square off against Gainesville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Gainesville is on a four-game streak of home wins, Celina a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
