Basketball Recap: Guerin Catholic Falls Despite Big Games from Lillian Behrle and Caroline Ford

Guerin Catholic lost against Lafayette Central Catholic back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles lost 58-33 to the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Knights are ranked 42nd).

Caroline Ford and Lillian Behrle certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ford posted eight points and nine boards, while Behrle put up ten points. That's the most points Behrle has posted since back in November of 2024.

Guerin Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Guerin Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will face off against North Vermillion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lafayette Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
