Volleyball Recap: New Prairie Takes a Loss

If New Prairie was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Bend Washington on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chesterton Trojans on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Makenzie Griffiths paced New Prairie's offense, picking up eight kills. Griffiths got some help from Karigan Mamazza and her six assists. Josie Woodham and Meghan Carroll kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

New Prairie now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Chesterton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

New Prairie has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Penn on the 30th. As for Chesterton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Warsaw on the 30th.
