Basketball Game Preview: Layton Christian Academy Eagles vs. Centennial Huskies

The Layton Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Centennial Huskies in a holiday battle at at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Layton Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Layton Christian Academy faced off against Timpview on Friday. Layton Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Timpview, sneaking past 42-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Tyrin Jones was his usual excellent self, putting up 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Omar Mowafak, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Centennial didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rancho Christian on Friday, but they still walked away with a 79-74 victory.

Layton Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
