Soccer Game Preview: Chase vs. Polk County

Chase is 0-6 against Polk County since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chase Trojans will be playing at home against the Polk County Wolverines at 6:00 p.m.

Chase is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of West Lincoln. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Rebels are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, Polk County kept a clean sheet against North Henderson on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Knights. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by three goals or more this season.

Polk County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Chase, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Chase suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Polk County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Chase avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
