Volleyball Game Preview: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Leroy Greene Academy Lions

The Union Mine Diamondbacks will square off against the Leroy Greene Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Union Mine came up short against Cordova and fell 3-1. The Diamondbacks have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

The final score came out to 25-0, 0-25, 25-0, 25-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Leroy Greene Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Leroy Greene Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.

Leroy Greene Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Union Mine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Union Mine took their victory against Leroy Greene Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Union Mine repeat their success, or does Leroy Greene Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
