Basketball Recap: Moapa Valley Takes a Loss

Moapa Valley extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 81-56 to The Meadows School Mustangs. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Moapa Valley lost, don't look at Jaxson Bunker. Despite the final result, he shot 43% from the field on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Bunker has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffery Jensen, who posted eight points.

As for The Meadows School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

It was another big night for Uzo Nwapa, who had 38 points. Those 38 points gave him a new career-high. Grant Moses was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Moapa Valley has already played their next game, a 77-14 victory against Cristo Rey St. Viator on the 10th. As for The Meadows School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-47 win against Boulder City on the 10th.
