Basketball Recap: Gentry Takes a Loss

Gentry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canton Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Tigers are ranked 32nd).

Gentry's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gentry will venture away from home to face off against Yazoo City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canton, they will head out on the road to take on Pass Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Canton comes in on three and Pass Christian on six.
