Basketball Recap: Barton Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Barton took on Norman Thomas on Saturday. The Barton Panthers took a hard 55-39 fall against the Norman Thomas Tigers.

It was another big night for Chris Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds for Norman Thomas. Taylor's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Abdullah Syllah was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Barton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Norman Thomas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barton has already played their next game (against Brooklyn Community Arts & Media), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Norman Thomas will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Stuyvesant at 4:30 p.m. on January 28th.
