Basketball Preview: Grace Academy vs. Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions
Grace Academy is on a 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while the Lions are on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Grace Academy will take on the Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Grace Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tribe W 64-17 at home. Grace Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Reagan Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Shell, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Texas Lions HomeSchool proved they can win big back in January (they won by 33) but last Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oklahoma F and snuck past 42-40. The win was all the more spectacular given Texas Lions HomeSchool's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 321st in Texas, while the Flame are ranked 151st in Oklahoma).
Grace Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.
