Baseball Recap: Lemoore Gets the Win

Lemoore lost to Dinuba back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Emperors by a score of 4-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Ian Snell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. Lemoore is 4-1 when Snell allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Drake Varela was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tristan Puga, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Lemoore's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Dinuba, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That lines up perfectly with their 5-20 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lemoore will square off against Tulare Western at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dinuba, they will take on Tulare Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Emperors are facing the Tribe at the right time seeing as the Tribe are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
